September 2006
Paul Sampson who was cast in
the film says in an email:
" "The Controller",
that was originally suppose to happen a couple of years ago.
Yep, I was set to do it. I grew my hair out for it and everything,
then it got post-poned one time to many times for me (I passed
on a couple of other projects because I kept getting a start
date to shoot the Controller). Well, eventually I got tired of
waiting and something else came up for me so I cut my hair and
did a different movie. To be honest, it was kind of a disappointing
situation for me (and I'm sure more so for Dolph). Even though
I wasn't the lead (Dolph was), I wanted to work with him, I liked
the script, I liked the character (it was different from what
I had been playing), and I lost money because I wouldn't take
another job because of it. But there must be a "cosmic"
reason why it didn't happen (hah :) Anyway, Dolph was set to
play the lead in that one, not me. He would know better what
happened."
May 2005
Dolph Lundgren is now listed
as the director of The Controller on IMDB as well
as a new production company Fresh Media. Is it actually gonna
go into production soon or is it just another confusion with
The Mechanik? Need confirmation.
September 2004
This title seems to have been
replaced by The Mechanik. Contradictory information
indicate that The Controller starts filming this
september; but Dolph talks about finishing post-production on
The Defender, taking time in Spain with his family
and then beginning work on The Mechanik.
May 2004
Currently in pre-production and
presented at the Cannes Film Market 2004 by Nu Image for worldwide
pre-sales. |
