On his official website, Dolph said:
"I read about Rocky 6 myself in an English
newspaper, but I havent heard from Sly so I don´t
think thats going to happen."
Dolph Lundgren himself said:
"Sly's writing a new Rocky. The 6th one, and tells
me he's going to try and write Ivan Drago in it. There's no way
I'd miss out on an opportunity on sparring with Balboa again.
In my opinion, Rocky IV, was one of the best Rocky
sequels. Not the least - the better of my films. If we can get
those two guys back in the ring again, we could have something
special. And from what Sly tells me, it's going to be good. I
look forward to doing it". from B & K Sports

December 12, 2002... The latest news from out of Hollywood
is that MGM is in serious talks with Sylvester Stallone to write,
star and produce Rocky VI. However, unlike past chapters
in this sports franchise, MGM and Stallone are of the mind to
make the new Rocky for as low as $10 to $15 million dollars --
a real bargain when you consider the average budget for a studio
picture hovers around $40 M. According to The Hollywood Reporter,
which broke the story today, the storyline being bandied about
would open with a 50-year-old Rocky Balboa running a youth center
and then being called out of retirement to fight yet another
heavyweight match in the ring. [Source: THR.] |
