Lundgren replaced Jean-Claude Van Damme after the later declined,
but the part of Scandinavian Gunnar Jensen was actually rewritten
by Sylvester Stallone with Lundgren in mind.

Music Award for the score of THE EXPENDABLES (along with three
other ones this year alone!).
THE EXPENDABLES also received
a Taurus Award Best Fire Work at the World Stunts Awards (for
the scene where the pier is doused with gas and explodes with
all the bad guys on it) and was nominated for Best Fight (the
underground tunnel scene fights).
