The biggest threat is internal; the responsibility of corralling and leading a few civilians, Marine Gunnery Sergeant Lucky Simcoe and Airforce Captain Sarah McBride -three different branches of the military . different philosophies and one mission; finding food. fuel and fellow survivors; defending his group against death row madman named Jesus and an overthrown prison in close vacinity to the Marine Reserve Depot; hiding his memory loss incurred in an accident during the earthquake; and finding that his talents are needed now as never before on this new frontier and that "getting personal" is not all that bad.
Character: Good Dialogue: Good Structure Very Good Comments : From the first words written in The Last Patrol script, curiosity surfaces. The storyline is a mix of active cuts from scene to scene that requires the audience's attention and promises a delivery of answers that will prove to catapult an action film. Captain Preston is the warrior you would want on your side during battle or the aftermath of any war and chaos. Memories of scenes from Terminator 1 'with Linda Hamilton in the underground during the war and hardships; and Conair with Nicholas Cage and prison inmates in the desert thread through the script of The Last Patrol. This story is fresh enough with the humanness of Captain Preston grabbling with his memory loss and remnants of memories surfacing; his efforts to lead and protect his group to find food, fuel and fellow survivors with little to nothing the coincidence of the earthquake timing stopping the execution of "Jesus" (the madman on death row) in the prison close to the Fort Edenberg Marine Depot in the desert who has overthrown the prison system; and the survival of a few human beings thrown from several walks of life to keep the story moving along at a decent clip. |
