Lundgren to play 'Blackjack'

By ANDREW HINDES, Variety, September 26, 1997

Dolph Lundgren will star in "Blackjack," a two-hour pilot to be helmed by John Woo for Alliance Television.
The pilot is the second project under Alliance's TV production deal with Woo, following on the heels of the telefilm and subsequent series "John Woo's Once a Thief."

Lundgren stars as Jack Devlin, a former U.S. Marshal whose job it was to protect people in the Witness Protection Program. After retiring, he becomes the bodyguard of a young supermodel whose ex-husband is out to kill her.

Woo, Terence Chang, Christopher Godsick and Peter Lance will exec produce, with John Ryan producing.

Lance is also scripting the project, which is set to begin production in Toronto on Oct. 20. Alliance will distribute "Blackjack" worldwide.
